Per the code of Virginia, students are required to be in class and on time every day. Such attendance is necessary in order for students to achieve academic success and prepare themselves to move into the workforce, higher education, military, etc.
Students in excess of the following limits are subject to loss of privileges at WHS.
10 unexcused tardies (TUX) to school
or
10 days with at least one unexcused absence (AUX) from any class
Students who reach the limit in either category may lose the following WHS student privileges:

Participation on WHS athletic teams

Attendance at any school sponsored event (including sporting events)

Participation at school dances/prom

Driving/parking privileges
This policy does not pertain to programs that are part of the regular school curriculum (band, concert choir, etc.) as part of a class grade. Please reference the full version of this policy or the WHS student handbook for the complete school attendance policy.
